Top Investing Mistakes & How to Avoid Them

As COVID-19 continued its global spread, Canadians were worried not only about their health but also about their investments. Many people's hard-earned investment portfolios had already taken a beating as stock markets plummeted in Q1 over concerns of the virus's impact on the economy. In light of that, Finance and Accounting Professionals Alliance (FAPA) organized its first ever webinar on the topic “Top Investing Mistakes and how to avoid them” for FAPA members. The webinar was conducted by Alykhan Shamji, who is a CFA Charterholder and is an investment advisor at BMO Nesbitt Burns. The session covered key topics such as:

-        Investing based on emotion

-        Investing too conservatively and cost of inflation

-        Pitfalls of timing the market

-        Benefits of Portfolio Diversification and Rebalancing

-        Benefits of Having a Financial Plan

This event was very well received. We are highly grateful to the attendees for making the event a success. We would also like to thank Alykhan for his time and efforts."
